ABOUT X-EMERGENCY
SERVICES

X-Emergency Services (X-ES) is an organisation of social entrepreneurs with a strong focus on helping those who have served in the emergency services transition effectively and excel in their post-service life.

X-ES draws on a proven business model to provide support and resources tailored for the Emergency Services Community. We work to support those transitioning to establish their own pathway built on access to relevant knowledge and information, examples of lived experiences, collaboration, training, and peer to peer support.

A key pioneer behind this undertaking has been Ren Kapur MBE who has worked tirelessly over the years to bring support systems together for under-served communities, the support of our young people in education and particularly the UK Armed Forces community.

Established in June 2016 X-ES initially focused on transition into self-employment. After extensive research and discussions with various interested parties, X-ES finally chose in December 2019 to partner with Emergency Services Career Transition (ESCT), a not-for-profit company, established by former police officers, who also wanted to improve career transition for those leaving the emergency services. Despite the challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020 plans were formed and finally realised in March 2021 when ESCT completely integrated their team and services within X-ES. Thanks to Richard Rowland, Gavin McMillan and Gerry Kiernan for their endeavours and contributions in integrating ESCT within X-ES. Our board of directors and advisors combines a strong group of former public servants, an entrepreneur, and a business strategy consultant; all of whom bring their own unique experience, knowledge, drive and passion to the emergency services community.

Supporting our board of directors is a dynamic and multi-skilled executive team that have a breadth
of experience across the business competency areas of project management, event coordination, training, marketing, and business support services. Our collaborative approach means we bring together stakeholders from across society to deliver better outcomes for service leavers. This includes government departments, charitable organisations, federations, and corporate organisations all of whom have a valuable contribution to make to transition outcomes. X-ES is the catalyst of change to make things happen.
